La Triomphante for Brass Quartet

Jean-Philippe Rameau was a hugely influential French composer and music theorist of the early 18th century. His prolific works for harpsichord were as popular then as they are now; frequently played in the parlours of the baroque French upper classes, the music now provides a highly adaptable set of pleasant tunes for all occasions. La Triomphante is from his Suite in A minor, here arranged for brass quartet is a wonderfully exuberant flourish perfect for the start or ends of programmes – and a great opportunity for your trumpet player to show off his piccolo chops!

Amy Harding studied trombone at the Royal Academy of Music and subsequently at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Having graduated in 2017, she is now enjoying a varied portfolio career specialising in historical performance.
