Ave Maris Stella for Brass Quartet

Thomas Stoltzer (c.1480-1526) was a German Renaissance composer. While popular in German-speaking countries up until the end of the 16th century, his work is mainly forgotten today. ‘Ave Maris Stella’ (In annunctiatione Mariae) is a sacred motet, originally for SATB choir.

A great choice for a small mid-programme break for one of your trumpeters in a standard quintet!

Instrumentation:

Part 1: Trumpet – parts included in Bb and C

Part 2: Horn in F – part also included in Bb

Part 3: Trombone – parts included in Tenor and Bass clef

Part 4: Tuba/Trombone
